Gil has been working in the broadcast industry for over 40 years and at Maine Public for the past 30 years. Gil has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Maine.
He served for six years on the PBS National Engineering Committee representing the Northeast and New York State culminating in his tenure as National Chair during the early planning and implementation of the television industry’s conversion to digital. Additionally, Gil served on the Maine Association of Broadcaster’s Board as President and Chair and he was selected to be the Chair of Maine’s Emergency Communications Committee crafting Maine’s transition to the Emergency Alert System.
Among his many awards, Gil is especially proud to have been named “Maine’s Broadcaster of the Year” and to be inducted into Maine’s Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame for his work.
Gil resides in Orrington with his wife. They have two grown children and two grandsons who live in Maine.
