Clean Elections Panel Discussion

  Led by Professor Lawrence Lessig of Harvard University, panelists put the Maine Clean Election system in a national context. They explore the current political and legal landscape for campaign reforms.

The panel is moderated by former Governor Angus King and includes:

  • Nick Nyhart, Co-Founder, President and CEO; Public Campaign
  • Ellen S. Miller, Co-Founder and Executive Director; Sunlight Foundation

The topics discussed by the panel include: campaign finance reform; the outlook for the Fair Elections Now Act in Congress; the long term implications of this year's Supreme Court decision in Citizens United; and the ongoing challenges to Maine's and other states' campaign finance laws.
