Ali Al Mshakheel came to Portland in March as a refugee from Iraq. He came to Maine with his wife and three children after spending much of the previous decade covering the Iraq conflict as a journalist. At various times he worked for ABC, NPR and the Times of London, among others. Every day he faced the kind of personal danger that few of us experience in a lifetime. He's going to be one of the guests on Maine Calling tomorrow at noon, when the topic will be Iraq and the worrying turn of events that are occuring there at the moment. Maine Things Considered host Tom Porter caught up with Ali Al Mshakheel in a Portland coffee shop.
