Maine Cops Shutter Franklin County Meth Operations

PHILLIPS, Maine — Maine police say they have dismantled two Franklin County methamphetamine labs and arrested four people on charges of selling the drug.

Officials say they shut down the two labs on Tuesday in Phillips and Farmington. Maine Drug Enforcement Agents say the state has shut down 17 labs this year. They say the most in one year is 20.

Police found evidence of meth manufacturing inside a vehicle after a Monday traffic stop on Route 4 in Avon. The vehicle was taken to a sheriff's impound lot in Farmington. Police also found meth in a home on Rangeley Road in Phillips.

Police say the four people arrested were taken to Franklin County Jail and will make their first court appearance tomorrow.
