Maine Graduate Comes Short of World Championships Final

LEWISTON, Maine - A Maine high school graduate competing at the track world championships in London has come just short of the final 800-meter run.
 
Isaiah Harris, of Lewiston, finished fourth at the semifinal heat Sunday with a time of 1:46.66. The top finisher in the heat was Adam Kszczot of Poland, with a time of 1:46.24, with Botswana's Nijel Amos finishing a close behind at 1:46.29.
 
Only the top two finishers and the next two fastest times qualified for Tuesday's finals.
 
No Americans will compete in the final race. Kipyegon Bett, of Kenya, finished the two laps with the fastest time at 1:45.02.
