Maine State Prison Inmate Dies

Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at the Maine State Prison in Warren.

Corrections Department officials say Jerry Robin Lydick, 56, died last night at about 10:30. Lydick, of Penobscot County, had served about 2 years and 3 months of a 20-year sentence for gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.

Investigators told The Associated Press that there's no evidence of foul play in Lydick's death, and a spokesman in the medical examiner's office said he died of natural causes.

Lydick was sentenced in 2012, and was scheduled to be released in January of 2032.

The Maine State Police and the state medical examiner were notified. Both are reviewing the death, Corrections Department officials say.
