Maine Wardens Look for Man Lost in Kennebec River

ANSON, Maine (AP) _ The Maine Warden Service is searching the Kennebec River in Anson and Madison after a 21-year-old man went missing in the river while swimming.

WABI-TV reports Jordan Cummings of Anson went swimming with a friend in the river on Thursday, had some sort of difficulty swimming, and went under water. The station reports friends tried to help, but lost sight of Cummings. Rescue crews began a search on Thursday night but could not find the man.

Rescuers are back at the river on Friday searching with planes and boats.

Route 201A in Ansonia between Campground Road and Preble Avenue is closed to traffic because of the search.
