WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) _ Mainers are invited to tour the MaineGeneral's newly renovated Thayer Center for Health.
The Waterville hospital is holding a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Then, members of the public will be able to tour the upgraded facility between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The hospital underwent a $16 million renovation and is now the largest outpatient center in the state. Its emergency department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and patients there will be able to receive a variety of diagnostic and testing services, among other things.
Officials say that 10 practices moved into the Thayer Center in September and the new main entrance was recently completed. The entire project took about a year.
