Scared Motorist Drags Pedestrian Down Congested Street

PORTLAND, Maine - A confrontation with an angry motorist in Maine led to a bizarre scene where a pedestrian was dragged for several feet down a congested street in Portland.

Lt. Kevin Cashman says a motorist took offense to a crossing pedestrian and they got into an argument Sunday night. The Portland Press Herald reports that the 69-year-old driver got scared the argument would turn violent so he tried to drive away.

The 49-year-old pedestrian then grabbed onto the vehicle and was dragged several feet before falling to the street.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the incident is currently under investigation. No charges have been filed yet.
