Day 9: Several Thousand Still Lack Power In Maine

PORTLAND, Maine - Most of Maine has returned to normal after a powerful storm, but hundreds are still in the dark for a ninth day.

Central Maine Power, the state's largest utility, says it's still working to restore power to about 3,000 homes and businesses.

CMP said work slowed as workers dealt with smaller outages affecting fewer customers. Some of the remaining locations are unoccupied seasonal homes.

The storm early on Oct. 30 cut power to nearly 500,000 customers at in Maine, and 404,000 of those homes and businesses were in the CMP territory.
