Police Arrest Owners Of Condemned Dogs

WATERVILLE, Maine - Police have arrested the owners of two pit bills that were ordered to be put down for killing a Boston terrier and seriously injuring a woman in Maine.

Waterville police Chief Joseph Massey tells The Morning Sentinel 28-year-old Danielle Jones and 33-year-old Brandon Ross were arrested Wednesday and charged with refusing to comply with a dangerous dog court order.

The dogs were being held at the Humane Society in Waterville. Jones was given permission to walk them shortly after the court ruling in October, and police say she claimed they had run off into the woods when she returned.

Jones' attorney called the charge "outrageous,'' and both he and Ross' attorney believe the case will be dismissed.

Police are still searching for the dogs.
