Woman Facing Charges for Driving into House

NAPLES, Maine (AP) _ A 65-year-old Maine woman faces drunken driving and other charges after police say her pickup truck hit two other vehicles and then a house.

Barbara Thorpe of Casco was arrested by Cumberland County sheriff's deputies on Friday evening after the crashes were reported in Naples.

Authorities say one motorist reported being sideswiped on the Naples Causeway bridge by a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane. Moments later, a second driver reported a similar incident. The offending vehicle then reportedly careened off the road and struck a home.

The sheriff's office says neither Thorpe nor anyone else was injured in the crashes.

Thorpe faces a Dec. 16 court date. It could not be immediately determined if she had a lawyer.
